Who Says Diamonds are a girls best friend?

I’m all for wearing jewelry on your wedding day, but some girls take it to the extreme (take Heidi on The Hills with her “bedazzled” gown). One of my favorite places to search for the perfect wedding jewelry is etsy.com. But everything is still so extravagant, and so not…me. I just hate the idea of spending so much on a bracelet or a set of earrings, that while stunning, will honestly sit in my jewelry box for the rest of my life. So I was looking on another one of my favorite websites, dogeared.com, and stumbled across their new line of “bridal suite” jewelry. And boy am I excited! There’s just so many to choose from, the prices are amazing, and really, the necklaces are simply adorable. Here are a few of my favorites:

These pieces are simple, elegant and so chic. They are pieces that you could absolutely wear everyday, and what a sweet reminder of one of the happiest days of your life!

Most of their necklaces are available in both silver and gold (including those strung on irish linen), and are sure to make any girl happy, and go with any gown.

Another idea I really love about the new “bridal suite”, is that they also have a section for bridesmaids. Here, you can shop by color to perfectly coordinate your girls jewelry with their gowns (or, you can also mix it up a bit if you choose.) If you’ve never checked out their website, you should do so right away!

Short dresses.

I have always pictured myself, ever since I was a little girl, wearing a short dress for my wedding. Over the past year or so, I’ve put some serious thought into this and decided against it. I thought it was inappropriate and that it wouldn’t feel like a wedding gown. Basically that a short dress wouldn’t be special enough.

That was until I saw these:

I cannot believe how cute some of these dresses are! It’s completely made me rethink my decision. Full length gowns just feel so…. formal to me. This seems like it’d be so much fun!

My only concern is that I’ll look back in fifteen years, and go “What was I thinking!?”

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

Posted on July 17, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized |

My favorite part of every outfit. Of course, wedding shoes are even more spectacular than everyday shoes, and about twice as expensive. I’ve often wondered what my wedding shoes would look like, and it seems like everything I’m liking has flowers on it.

Here are some examples:

They are basically the same shoe, and I am in love with both pairs. The price is the same for both pair, right around $300. The main problem I’m having with finding shoes (besides the prices) is the fact that almost every pair that I like have a huge heel. My fiance is only about two inches taller than me. There are NO cute short shoes, as far as I’m concerned. I also don’t want to spend several hundred dollars on a pair of shoes that I will only wear once. Especially since I figure I’ll probably go barefoot for the reception. I have searched high and low and these are the only two pair that are relatively low that I like. It’s not looking good so far!

Color Scheme

Posted on July 17, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized |

One of the only things that my fiance and I decided on a long time ago that has stuck through the actual engagement are the colors that we want to use. We are going with blue, orange, white and silver. It seems strange, I know. The wedding will be in the summer, and we’re trying to keep in young and fresh.

Here is how I’m thinking it will break down:

Table Linens: Bright Blue

Vases: Silver

Silverware: Silver

Plates: White

Flowers: Orange and White

Napkins: Dark Blue
